Bubikon
Project Cantrix was scheduled to perform at the Misteria Paschalia Festival in Krakow, Poland, for Easter 2021. Due to the high likelihood that the pandemic would disrupt all plans, the concert by the Ensemble Peregrina was instead filmed by Misteria Paschalia Festival. An opportunity arose to record this musical program for St John the Baptist, celebrating the courtly music of Aragon and praising Queen Sancha, in a very special place in Switzerland.
As travel was indeed widely restricted, Ensemble Peregrina, together with the Order of Malta and the Order of St John of Switzerland, recorded this Cantrix program within the walls of the ancient Order of St. John Commandery in Bubikon (1192), Switzerland.
For several days, musicians and technicians worked in the extremely cold surroundings of the Bubikon Commandery. The temperature in the church was recorded as 4°C, but this aspect of weather was not a problem as the Ensemble was deeply inspired by the beautiful medieval surrounding within the ancient Commandery.
